The Elephant in the Room is Cancer. Tea is the Relief Conversation Provides.

For the first time ever, Elephants and Tea will be launching our own in-person events, inviting our writers, our readers, and the AYA cancer community to connect, interact, and celebrate each other!

We will be hosting four events that correspond with each of our 2023 magazine issues. These events will take place in different parts of the country, to meet our herd where they are, and make it easier for survivors to connect with others in the AYA cancer community in a cost-effective way. At each party we will partner with a local hospital or organization that serves the cancer community.

Magazine Release Event Scholarships

Interested in providing a scholarship so that a member of the AYA community can attend the event? Donate here.

Be sure to leave a comment stating that your donation is for the magazine release event scholarship.

Each magazine event will have two parts:

Healing Through Writing Workshops

During the day, we will host a free, 90 minute workshop for any survivors that want to attend.

These workshops are brought to you by our friends at I’m Not Done Yet Foundation. Attendees will learn to use journaling as a form of self-therapy in a relaxed, safe environment. Members of the Elephants and Tea team will guide participants through writing prompts and an open discussion after each exercise as a way to connect to their peers.

Storytelling Soiree

With mingling and story recitations, we will celebrate the release of the latest magazine with our new and old friends!

Similar to our popular Perkatory events, these parties will provide an opportunity for each writer to read their story aloud for others to hear. We will be giving out scholarships to our writers from the corresponding magazine to join us at each regional location.
