Survivor, OsteosarcomaMy name is Devyani Mahajan and I am 32 years old. I am a young osteosarcoma survivor. I was diagnosed in 2017, at the age of 30, when I was starting with my research as a doctoral student. I completed treatment last year in 2019. I underwent multiple surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy treatments over a period of two years. Currently, I am working towards finishing up with my Ph.D in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University, and looking forward to graduating in December 2020.

Well, in 2017, I thought life was good. There was so much to look forward to. But Cancer, you chose to show your ugly and repulsive face, at a time when everything in my life was how it should be.
