Survivor, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Stage 2
Cameron is a California native and graduate of the University of Oregon. He currently works for the University of Colorado Boulder as an alumni engagement professional. A few months after moving to Colorado, he received his Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma diagnosis in March of 2019. Chemo took a mental and physical toll but maintaining a sense of humor plus a heavy dose of west coast gangster rap got him through treatments. Sites such as Elephants and Tea have also been an important resource in his road to recovery and coping with life after a cancer diagnosis. Cameron continues to find healing through writing, naps, cooking, hiking, rock climbing, and making his wife laugh uncontrollably.

Keepin’ It (too) Real

If there is one bright spot in my cancer journey, it is my newfound ability to overstep social boundaries within a few minutes of meeting a new person. “Hi, nice to meet you. My name is Cameron. I currently live in Boulder and I can’t figure out if I have heartburn or there’s a tumor in my chest.”
